Volunteer Experience

Verve is an annual one-day multi-disciplinary community arts festival organised by Second-Year Arts Business Management (ABM) students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. I was assisting along with most of the shoots that are needed to showcase or live streaming workshops, setting up and tearing down equipments.

This volunteer experience is different from the usual volunteer that I used to be as it is a role of artist liasion, where liasioning with artists and managing them. I have learnt how to be an artist liasion, how is it like to manage an artist, the kind of job scope that artist liasion do.

This volunteer experience is one of the kind as we do not usually volunteer as a gallery volunteer, being a gallery volunteer makes me understand how a gallery is operated through volunteering, how the events run smoothly with the helps of volunteers.

This front-of-house volunteer experience let me understand what does a front of house administration do during a showcase theatre show. Through volunteering, I have understand and deepened my knowledge of crowd management, people management and customer service.

This volunteering experience was an amazing one, as volunteering with Formula 1 is not easy. There were rules and regulation for us to follow as we were the representation of Formula 1, it has deepened my knowledge on crowd management skills and customer service skills.

This project is volunteering that required us to go overseas, Chiang Mai, Thailand. This trip has deepened my knowledge on community service as local community service is different from overseas, and overseas community service would make us reflect on how fortunate we are and how we should not take things for granted.
